Mayor Faces Backlash Over Photo with Falling In Reverse’s Ronnie Radke

Australian Mayor Matthew Garwood is under fire after sharing a photo with Falling In Reverse frontman Ronnie Radke, who has a controversial history that includes time in prison and past charges of assault and battery.

Garwood posted the photo on Facebook following Radke’s recent Australian tour, sparking criticism from community members. Among those voicing concerns were Councillors Andrea Dawkins and Lindi McMahon, with Dawkins stating she received messages from local women expressing their discomfort over the post.

In response to the backlash, Garwood defended the post by stating that his Facebook page is personal and that his views do not represent the city. However, critics argue that with over 20,000 followers and frequent posts related to Launceston City Council, the distinction between his personal and official capacity is blurred.

In the post, Garwood wrote:
