Megadeth performed their cover of Metallica classic “Ride The Lightning” live for the first time last night, April 26.
The debut took place at Movistar Arena in Bogotá, Colombia, where fans captured footage of the performance and quickly shared it online.
The cover has already generated significant discussion due to Dave Mustaine’s long history with the song. Mustaine holds writing credits on the original track dating back to his early 1980s tenure in Metallica, making the performance a notable full-circle moment.
For those who missed the original announcement, Megadeth included their studio version of “Ride The Lightning” on their self-titled farewell album, which arrived this past January and topped charts upon release.
The live debut now adds another headline moment to the band’s final chapter.
