Multi-camera footage has surfaced of thall practitioners Vildhjarta performing a medley of “Rational Gaze” and “Sum” by extreme metal pioneers Meshuggah. The performance took place this week in front of a seated audience during the Gannevik Scholarship awards ceremony, with members of Meshuggah in attendance.
At the event, Meshuggah were honored with one of the namesake scholarships, receiving a 500,000 SEK endowment (roughly $53,000 USD) for their contributions to Sweden’s culture and arts.
While Vildhjarta’s intense medley alone was a highlight, the audience reaction proved just as entertaining. Multi-camera shots captured some attendees covering their ears, others visibly uncomfortable, and a few looking downright like deer caught in headlights.
