Ministry have clarified the extent of Paul Barker’s involvement in their upcoming farewell album, ‘Hate To Go (Take Out Or Delivery),’ while simultaneously unveiling a lengthy European farewell run for 2027.
When the influential industrial metal outfit announced Barker’s return in 2024, many fans expected the longtime bassist and songwriter to play a major role throughout the band’s final studio effort. However, a newly issued press release reveals that Barker’s participation is limited to a guest appearance on the album’s closing track, “We’re Still Here.”
According to the statement:
“‘Hate To Go (Take Out Or Delivery)’—Ministry’s 17th release—features one final collaboration with legacy member Paul Barker on the final album track ‘We’re Still Here,’ alongside the handiwork of current Ministry bandmates, guitarists Monte Pittman and Cesar Soto, bassist Paul D’ Amour, sampler/synth player John Bechdel and drummer Pepe Clarke Magaña.”
The revelation comes shortly after Ministry announced ‘Hate To Go (Take Out Or Delivery)’ and released its politically charged lead single, “Burned Out.” The album is currently scheduled to arrive on October 30 and is being billed as the band’s final studio release.
Beyond a handful of previously announced festival and special event appearances later this year, Al Jourgensen and company have now confirmed the ‘Goodbye Europe Tour,’ a spring 2027 farewell trek featuring support from fellow industrial veterans Die Krupps.
