MNRK Music Group has acquired the complete recorded catalog of Black Label Society, the long-running southern metal outfit founded by guitar icon Zakk Wylde.
The deal encompasses the band’s 11 studio albums, along with its live releases, EPs, Wylde’s solo recordings and additional material. Financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
MNRK plans to put the catalog to work through reissues and continued digital availability, while also looking to introduce Black Label Society’s extensive body of work to new generations of listeners.
MNRK Music Group CEO and president Sean Stevenson described the agreement as an extension of the company’s longstanding relationship with Wylde.
“Black Label Society has built one of the most enduring and loyal fanbases in heavy music. Owning and continuing to grow this catalog is a natural next step for us, and we’re proud to deepen our partnership with Zakk for the long term.”
MNRK Heavy SVP Scott Givens similarly highlighted Wylde’s influence and the lasting appeal of the Black Label Society catalog.
“The Black Label Society catalog represents decades of powerful songwriting, unforgettable riffs, and an incredibly dedicated global audience. We’re excited to bring new energy to these releases and continue expanding their reach across streaming, vinyl, and new generations of fans.”
Wylde has fronted Black Label Society for more than two decades while also maintaining a high-profile career that has included performing with Ozzy Osbourne and Pantera.
The acquisition gives MNRK control of a substantial portion of Wylde’s recorded legacy, with further reissue plans expected to follow.
