After a triumphant return to live stages over the past few years, Mudvayne have officially released their first new song in 16 years. Overnight, the industrial nu-metal veterans dropped the single “Hurt People Hurt People.”
The band’s last release was their self-titled album, Mudvayne, which came out on December 21, 2009. Back in May 2025, it was announced that Mudvayne had signed with Alchemy Records for their upcoming material, setting the stage for this long-awaited comeback.

Mudvayne re-emerged when frontman Chad Gray stepped away from Hellyeah following the passing of Vinnie Paul in 2018. By 2021, the band had kicked off several U.S. festival appearances before hitting the global circuit, including a run in Australia.
“Hurt People Hurt People” hits immediately, showcasing the band’s signature bass-heavy sound. Gray delivers the track’s title in a menacing, bouncy cadence over sharp, driving drums, while downtuned guitars bring listeners back to the era of breakthrough record L.D. 50. This new release is both a nod to their past and a statement that Mudvayne are very much back in the nu-metal game.
