My Chemical Romance’s ‘Danger Days’ Era Receives New Platinum Certifications In The U.S.

As My Chemical Romance prepare to revisit the Danger Days era with an upcoming deluxe reissue, the band have also picked up several new platinum certifications in the United States.

The RIAA officially certified Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys platinum on May 14, while the album’s first two singles — “Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)” and “Sing” — also achieved platinum status.

The certifications arrive alongside the recent announcement of a deluxe remastered edition of the album, which is scheduled for release on July 10. To accompany the reveal, the band also shared archival footage of a BBC Radio 1 in-studio performance of “Na Na Na.”

Originally released in 2010, Danger Days marked a stylistic shift for the group, blending colorful dystopian themes with a more expansive alternative rock sound compared to the darker tone of their earlier material.

Under current RIAA standards, platinum certification represents 1 million units moved in the United States, combining physical sales, digital purchases, and streaming equivalents.
