Danish black/folk metal artist Myrkur has officially entered the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix with her newly released single, “Touch My Love And Die”. The competition will determine Denmark’s representative for the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna this May.
For this entry, Myrkur crafted a richly atmospheric track, blending her signature ethereal vocals with ancient folk instrumentation. She also incorporated a girl’s choir to enhance the track’s haunting, cinematic feel. The song was recorded with Christopher Juul of Heilung, adding additional historical and mystical layers to the arrangement.
“This track combines old-world sounds with modern expression,” Myrkur commented. “It was important for me to create something that felt timeless and could resonate on the Eurovision stage while staying true to my artistic identity.”
The single marks a unique crossover for Myrkur, who is primarily known for her dark, atmospheric black and folk metal releases, bringing that aesthetic to a mainstream Danish competition.
