Nails have returned with a brand-new two-song release, with the Californian powerviolence outfit issuing their new “Fear Based Life” EP through Closed Casket Activities.
The release features the tracks “Dollar Bin Generation” and “Fear Based Life,” with both songs produced by the band themselves. The two-song effort is currently available to stream, while a physical 7-inch pressing is also up for pre-order in several color variants through Closed Casket Activities.
The vinyl editions are currently expected to ship on October 9.
The new release also marks another chapter in the longstanding relationship between Nails and Closed Casket Activities. According to the band, guitarist/vocalist Justin Louden has been involved behind the scenes with the label’s Justin Louden since 2011, providing perspective on everything from touring to business decisions throughout the band’s career.
Nails had the following to say about that partnership:
“There hasn’t been a more instrumental asset to NAILS than Closed Casket Activities in the past 15 years. Signing a record deal with Closed Casket Activities is the best move for NAILS and we know this is going to serve NAILS the best for the band’s needs.”
The band also confirmed that the new EP isn’t the only new material on the horizon. Nails are now targeting Summer 2027 for the release of their fifth full-length album.
“We hope you enjoy our new 2 song ‘Fear Based Life’ release, and we will have our fifth LP out Summer 2027. Thank you for supporting NAILS.”
