Nonpoint have officially launched the first taste of their next era, releasing a lyric video for their new single “Is It,” which arrives as the lead track from their upcoming twelfth studio album ‘The Last Word’.
The Floridian nü-metal/alternative metal veterans announced that ‘The Last Word’ will be released later this summer via their own 361 Degrees Records label. The new single is currently available in lyric video form, with wider digital streaming rollout set for May 08.
Frontman Elias Soriano described the album as a statement of creative defiance and continued evolution for the band.
“In a world that sometimes wants to put a timestamp on creativity, ‘The Last Word‘ is our way of saying we’re just getting started. We’re pushing back against expectation and pushing forward into our own next chapter.”
Soriano expanded further on the meaning behind the album’s concept and visual direction, saying the record reflects both longevity and resistance to limitation.
“This album cover tells a piece of our story. After years of making music, we feel more aligned than ever — musically, visually, and creatively. We’re writing some of the strongest material of our career, our live shows are as powerful as they’ve ever been, and the band feels focused and energized.”
He added that the album’s symbolic imagery represents the pressure artists often face after years in the industry.
“The pencil on the cover represents what it’s like to be handed one last tool and expected to fit everything you have left to say into it.”
“Not because the ideas are gone, but because longevity often comes with assumptions and limits. ‘The Last Word‘ isn’t about accepting an ending. It’s about challenging that narrative.”
Speaking specifically about the new single “Is It,” Soriano explained that the track explores internal conflict and emotional uncertainty.
“‘Is It‘ is that internal conflict where you question getting too involved? Did I push too hard? Did I ask too much? It’s that feeling of wondering if doing what you thought was right actually meant hurting the people around you.”
Alongside the release, Nonpoint have also been previewing new material in their recent live sets, including the unreleased track “Red Yeti,” which features Sumo Cyco vocalist Skye Sweetnam.
The band recently launched their “Outta Control Tour” with SOiL and Sumo Cyco, with remaining dates stretching across the U.S. this spring and early summer, including stops in South Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, and Illinois, as well as a performance at Welcome To Rockville in Daytona Beach.
With new music arriving and a full touring schedule underway, Nonpoint appear set to continue building momentum heading into the release of ‘The Last Word’.
