Ozzfest Revival Planned For 2027 With UK Dates In Birmingham And U.S. Expansion

The legendary Ozzfest festival could be returning in a major way in 2027. According to Sharon Osbourne, early plans are now taking shape for a revival that would begin with a pair of shows in Birmingham, England before eventually making its way back to the United States.

Speaking on the family’s podcast The Osbournes, Sharon revealed that the relaunch of the once-annual metal and hard rock festival could include two events hosted at Aston Villa Football Club’s stadium in Birmingham. From there, the festival would potentially expand with additional stops across America.

The Birmingham venue holds special significance for the Osbourne family. It was also the site of last year’s “Back To The Beginning” event, which served as the final live sendoff for Sharon’s late husband Ozzy Osbourne and the iconic heavy metal pioneers Black Sabbath. That celebration also featured an all-star tribute performance including members of Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Tool, and more.

Discussing the early vision for Ozzfest’s comeback, Sharon explained:

“We wanna do two days in Aston Villa and then come to America. And we wanna hear from everyone where we should go in America. And also we’ve gotta find a lot of young, new talent, because that’s what [Ozzy] would want.”

Sharon originally launched Ozzfest alongside Ozzy in the mid-1990s, and the touring festival quickly became one of the most influential platforms for metal and hard rock bands of its era. The most recent iteration of the event took place in 2018, when it returned as a destination-style festival in Inglewood, California.

Late last year, Sharon also revealed she had been discussing the possibility of bringing the festival back with promoter Live Nation, suggesting that the wheels have been turning behind the scenes for some time.

If plans move forward, the 2027 edition would mark the first full-scale return of Ozzfest in nearly a decade.
