The city of Birmingham, England will officially honor the life and legacy of Ozzy Osbourne with the inaugural ‘Ozzy Day’ on July 22, 2026.
The citywide celebration marks one year since the passing of the legendary Black Sabbath frontman, who died on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76. Organized by Birmingham City Council, Central BID, OPUS, Birmingham New Street, and Westside BID, the event will feature live music, public art installations, special performances, exhibitions, and fan tributes throughout the city center.
Fans will be able to visit several landmarks connected to Osbourne’s legacy, including the Black Sabbath Bench and Bridge, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, Birmingham New Street Station, Bullring, Selfridges, and Martineau Place.
Among the scheduled activities, Bostin Brass will perform a series of pop-up sets featuring music from Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath at locations across the city. Members of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) will also perform a special lunchtime tribute outside Bullring.
Visitors can take commemorative photographs with Ozzy the Bull, share personal memories and stories for a permanent guestbook archive, and explore the “Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero” exhibition at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, which includes Ozzy’s iconic throne and additional memorabilia celebrating his career.
A limited-edition Ozzy Osbourne t-shirt will also be available exclusively through Selfridges Bullring beginning July 22. The shirt features artwork from Ozzy’s farewell concert, “Back To The Beginning,” and includes a complete list of all 52 performances he played in Birmingham throughout his career as both a solo artist and a member of Black Sabbath.
The event follows a series of recent tributes to Black Sabbath, including the band’s receipt of the Freedom of the City of Birmingham honor in June 2025.
City officials described Ozzy Day as an opportunity for fans from around the world to celebrate one of Birmingham’s most influential cultural figures and recognize his lasting impact on music history.
