Ozzy Osbourne’s AI-Powered Digital Avatar Set For Interactive Worldwide Launch

The legacy of Ozzy Osbourne is entering a new technological era. Following the recent announcement that Ozzy’s likeness had been licensed to digital entertainment company Hyperreal, additional details have now surfaced regarding how the late heavy metal icon’s interactive AI avatar will function.

The project, which was approved by Ozzy’s family, is expected to begin rolling out later this summer across the United States and the United Kingdom. According to reports, the AI-powered version of the legendary vocalist will appear through Proto Hologram and their Proto Luma “holoportation” devices, which are designed to project life-sized digital avatars capable of interactive conversations.

Ozzy’s widow, Sharon Osbourne, and son, Jack Osbourne, both signed off on the licensing agreement with the intention of preserving the Prince Of Darkness’ legacy through evolving technology.

Speaking about the ambitious concept, Hyperreal CEO Remington Scott explained that the project was built entirely from approved archival material tied directly to Ozzy himself.

“Every element of this avatar was built exclusively from authenticated, approved source material: curated, consented, and controlled by the people who love him most. This is a living performance, not a rendering; and it draws from nothing that wasn’t given willingly. We have the enthusiastic participation of Ozzy’s family, and that changes everything about what this can be.”

During a recent discussion surrounding the launch, Jack Osbourne admitted the realism of the technology was unsettlingly convincing.

“It’s kind of scary how it’s really very accurate. He will exist digitally as himself for as long as we have computers. Technology has come such a long way to where it’s almost drag and drop. You could shoot a template for a commercial … literally prompt what you want Digital Ozzy to do in that commercial and you just drop it in. It’s that simple now.”

Sharon Osbourne also elaborated on how interactive the experience is intended to become.

“You can ask Ozzy anything, and he will answer you in his own voice – and the answers will be what Ozzy would have said. We’re going to take it all around the world. People can talk to him and he will talk back.”

The announcement has already sparked significant debate online regarding the ethics and future implications of AI recreations involving deceased musicians and celebrities. However, Ozzy’s family appear committed to presenting the technology as a way to preserve and extend his personality and connection with fans for future generations.
