Swiss deathcore outfit Paleface Swiss have announced that longtime drummer Cassiano “Cassi” Toma has officially departed the band. The news was shared via the group’s social media channels alongside a personal statement from Toma addressing the decision.
Toma performed on the band’s 2025 release Cursed as well as their 2026 EP The Wilted, helping shape the group’s recent era both in the studio and onstage. According to the band, the split was mutual and made with respect between all parties.
In a brief message accompanying the announcement, the band wrote:
“Goodbye Cassi, thank for everything, we love you forever.”
Toma later shared a longer statement explaining that his departure stems from a need to focus on his mental health, emphasizing that there was no conflict behind the decision.
“I want to share something personal with you all. I’ve made the decision to step down from the drum throne. And before anything gets lost in noise or speculation, please know this: this was a decision made together, with care, honesty, and love on all sides.”
“There’s no falling out, no bitterness. Only deep respect and a bond that will never fade… These years have been some of the most beautiful, intense, and unforgettable moments of my life.”
He went on to explain that the increasing demands of touring and performing had become difficult to manage while navigating personal mental health challenges.
“Lately, it’s all become a little too heavy for me to carry the way I want to. I’m still navigating my mental health, and I’ve had to face the difficult truth that right now, I can’t be the drummer this band deserves, or the person I want to be for myself.”
Toma confirmed that his final performance with the band would take place the same night as the announcement, closing out his tenure on a celebratory note alongside his bandmates and fans.
At the time of writing, Paleface Swiss have not revealed who will take over drumming duties moving forward.
