PANTERA Postpone Select Dates to Mourn the Loss of Ozzy Osbourne

Pantera have announced several changes to their upcoming tour schedule as they take time to grieve the passing of legendary heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne, who died earlier this week at the age of 76.

Current Pantera guitarist Zakk Wylde spent decades by Ozzy’s side as his guitarist and bandmate, most recently joining him onstage during the ‘Back to the Beginning’ farewell concert on July 5th in Birmingham, UK. That night also saw Pantera perform their own set, which included covers of two Black Sabbath classics in honor of the Prince of Darkness.

The band shared the following statement on social media earlier today (July 25th):

“Ozzy wasn’t just a legend who shaped the very foundation of heavy metal and inspired Pantera from the beginning — he was family. A mentor, a brother, and a constant presence in our lives both on and off the stage. The bond we shared with him ran far deeper than music.

In light of this profound loss, we need time and space to grieve — to be with our families, our crew, and each other as we process and honor the life of someone who meant so much to us.

Out of respect, and to allow members of our team the time to mourn, we will be rescheduling the following shows:

07/31 Holmdel, NJ – now rescheduled to 09/08

Despite the loss, Pantera have continued to perform, including tonight’s show in Hershey, PA, where they’ve paid tribute to Ozzy onstage through custom visuals and a live performance of their cover of Black Sabbath’s “Planet Caravan”.
