Metal veterans Michael Leo Valeri of Brand Of Sacrifice (also founder of Shibori Threads) and Ryan “Tuck” O’Leary of Fit For A King (also of Beacon Management) have joined forces to launch a new record label, Papercut Recordings.
According to a press release, the label’s mission is straightforward: to empower artists. Built on a foundation of equitable partnerships, Papercut Recordings combines transparent funding with industry experience, providing artists with hands-on support from people who understand the grind firsthand.
Valeri and O’Leary elaborated:
“If there’s one thing we’ve seen enough of, it’s new talent getting steamrolled. Our mission is to return creative control and power to the people who earned it—the artists. We provide fair, transparent funding paired with real-world expertise from people who are metal musicians themselves, living and breathing the scene alongside you. It’s about partnership, respect, and building something authentic together.”
The label has already announced its first two signings: math rock/post-metal outfit Blackshape and post-hardcore band LIMBS. More details on the label and its artists are available at papercutrecordings.com
