Primus are getting an appropriately unusual vinyl reissue for their classic 1991 album ‘Sailing The Seas Of Cheese’. A new limited pressing featuring cheese-colored liquid sealed inside the vinyl is scheduled to arrive on November 20.
The special edition is being offered through The Sound Of Vinyl, with pre-orders now available. The yellow liquid-filled design appears to be a playful nod to the album’s title, offering collectors a fittingly unconventional way to celebrate the record’s upcoming 35th anniversary.
Originally released in 1991, ‘Sailing The Seas Of Cheese’ marked Primus’ major label debut and went on to earn platinum certification. The band’s distinctive blend of alternative metal and eccentric experimentation helped bring their offbeat sound to a much wider audience.
Rather than incorporating actual cheese into the record’s construction, the pressing uses a cheese-inspired yellow liquid to achieve the effect.
Pre-orders are available now through The Sound Of Vinyl.
