Another Band Drops from ‘Punk In The Park’ Over Owner’s Ties to Donald Trump

Earlier this week, Denver hardcore band Destiny Bond raised concerns about ‘Punk In The Park‘ and their ties to President Donald Trump, citing a past campaign donation from festival owner Cameron Collins of Brew Ha Ha Productions. Those concerns ultimately led Destiny Bond to withdraw from the lineup.

Now, another local act, straight-edge hardcore outfit TIME X HEIST, have also announced they will not be performing at the festival. Both bands were originally scheduled to perform today.

TIME X HEIST shared the following statement regarding their decision to step away from the event:

“After careful consideration and conversations with our peers and trusted friends, we have decided to cancel our appearance at Punk In The Park.

We cannot in good conscience support organizers that put profit over people. We have decided to step away from this fest to stand in solidarity with our trans siblings, immigrants and others negatively affected by the current administration and policies of the day.

While we hoped to use this platform as a way to speak truth to power, we have heard in these conversations that it would be more harmful than beneficial. Also, in solidarity, we will be donating a portion of Monday’s door at our D3 show to charity.”

Both Destiny Bond and TIME X HEIST have now officially pulled out of this year’s PUNK IN THE PARK over these concerns.
