The ongoing back-and-forth between music critic Anthony Fantano and Ronnie Radke of Falling In Reverse escalated again this week.
Back on August 07th, Radke posted a video revealing that he had lost the defamation lawsuit he filed against Fantano in August of 2024. That suit stemmed from Fantano’s 2023 video ‘This Guy Sucks’, in which he harshly criticized Radke, citing allegations against the vocalist and his past legal troubles. Radke’s complaint accused Fantano of going beyond fair commentary and into “unfounded rumormongering and outright untruth.”
The case ultimately closed in Fantano’s favor, with the judge siding with him after he filed an anti-SLAPP motion, ordering Radke to pay his legal fees. Though Radke was the first to publicly announce the outcome, he continued taking shots at Fantano online and even featured him as a target of mockery at Falling In Reverse shows.
On August 30th, Fantano posted his own detailed response video, breaking down Radke’s earlier statement. In it, he made his stance clear, stating:
“Ronald, I know you’re watching. Remember this: no matter what I say in this video, no matter what you say in this video, and no matter what is said after this point in time, I want you to always remember — always have in your head — you lost your lawsuit to me, and you had to pay me my legal fees.
So again, thank you for that. Nothing you whine about or complain about in this video changes that. Not one little bit. You took the L, that is the fact of the matter, and let’s watch you cope and seethe.”
Radke quickly fired back with another video on August 31st, accusing Fantano of racism, homophobia, and what he called a “moral superiority complex.” He also criticized fans who rely on critics to shape their opinions and framed his attacks on Fantano as being on behalf of bands and fanbases who’ve received negative reviews.
“I know this motherfcker has been sweating because my fans have literally been going the fck off and riding for me, and I really appreciate that, because I’m not gonna tell them to slow down…
…This is for all the Sleep Token fans. This is for all the fcking Muse fans. This is for all the fcking Falling In Reverse fans. This is for all the people that fcking literally love their favorite bands. And you know this guy’s coming in with some bllshit. This is for those guys.”
The feud between the outspoken critic and Radke shows no signs of slowing down, as both continue to trade shots through their platforms.
