Ohio deathcore outfit Rose Funeral have returned with a new cover version of Slayer’s “Disciple.”
The original track appeared on Slayer’s 2001 album ‘God Hates Us All’ and has long stood as one of the band’s most aggressive and recognizable songs from their later-era catalog.
According to Rose Funeral, the idea to record the cover came together while the band were deep into pre-production work on their next studio album.
“We are finishing up pre-production on the new album and decided to do something fun by covering an iconic classic by the legendary Slayer!”
The new rendition injects the song with a more modern deathcore edge while retaining the intensity and hostility of the original version.
The release also serves as another sign that Rose Funeral are ramping up activity ahead of their forthcoming album, which is currently still in development.
