Finnish grindcore veterans Rotten Sound have released a blistering new single, “Idealist”, the latest preview of their upcoming EP ‘Mass Extinction’. The 8-track effort ties directly into the writing and recording sessions for the band’s 2023 album ‘Apocalypse’, expanding on the same creative period.
Vocalist Keijo Niinimaa explained the mindset behind the track, offering:
“‘Idealist’ is a cynical D-beat anthem about our fight for a better future. I do believe that better times are ahead, but it feels impossible to find a new level in humanity. The transition seems to take forever. That frustration led me to write the lyrics to this song. Mika’s riffs and Sami’s grooves open the circle into a mosh pit.”
