Platinum-certified hard rock and nü-metal band Saliva have announced their twelfth studio album Breaking Through, set for release on August 14th via Judge & Jury Records. The announcement arrives alongside the release of their new single “Sadistic Love,” which is now streaming with an official music video directed by Toddi Babu.
Frontman Bobby Amaru described the track as an exploration of toxic emotional cycles and the blurred line between pain and attraction in volatile relationships.
“Some relationships become a battlefield. You fight, you break, you swear it’s over, and then somehow you’re right back in the middle of it again. ‘Sadistic Love’ is about being addicted to the very thing that hurts you. It’s about chaos disguised as passion and pain disguised as connection. Sometimes the scars become part of the attraction. It’s messy, it’s toxic, it’s real, and we wanted the song to feel exactly like that.”
The upcoming album marks another chapter for Saliva, who continue without any original members following the passing of guitarist/vocalist Wayne Swinny in 2023. Vocalist Bobby Amaru, who joined the band in 2011, remains the longest-tenured member of the current lineup.
