Scene Queen has joined forces with Left To Suffer and Seven Hours After Violet vocalist Taylor Barber for her new single, “Metalicious.”
The track serves as the title song from Scene Queen’s upcoming EP, “Metalicious,” which is scheduled for release on September 11, 2026. Blending her signature “bimbocore” style with heavier influences, the new collaboration finds Barber contributing guest vocals to one of the most aggressive songs in her catalog to date.
Discussing the single, Scene Queen described it as a collision of indie sleaze aesthetics and modern metal energy.
“‘Metalicious’ featuring Left To Suffer is what happens if a tumblr indie sleaze club song was written in metal font. The song takes you through girls night at a metal show. The band is heavy, the drinks are flowing, and the girls are whipping their purses in the moshpit.”
She also shared insight into the creative direction behind the forthcoming EP, explaining that she wanted to recapture the excitement and experimentation that defined her early “Bimbocore” releases while pushing the heavier side of her sound even further.
“‘Metalicious’ the EP is as chaotic recession pop, y2k-coded, metal madness. I wanted an EP that was as fun to make as when I was writing the Bimbocore volumes and making music was fresh and new to me. In the spirit of Bimbocore, I experimented with the pop influences, but this time the heavy parts are the heaviest they’ve ever been. From deathcore features, to me laying down some of my lowest screams yet, this EP was as fun to make for me as it sounds throughout. Yes there’s some trauma dumping in there, but it’s a Scene Queen EP so what do you expect.”
With Taylor Barber’s guest appearance and promises of heavier material throughout, “Metalicious” looks set to continue Scene Queen’s genre-blurring approach while expanding on the sound that helped establish her as one of heavy music’s most unconventional rising stars.
The new single is available now, while the “Metalicious” EP arrives on September 11, 2026.
