Sharon Osbourne has offered some additional insight into the 2027 return of Ozzfest, revealing that organizers have only secured approximately half of the festival’s lineup so far. She also confirmed plans for two previously unreleased songs from the late Ozzy Osbourne, while providing an update on the long-discussed biopic chronicling her and Ozzy’s relationship.
The festival’s return was officially announced earlier today (November 5), with three dates confirmed for next year. However, the announcement stopped short of revealing any performers, despite Sharon previously indicating in August that a headliner had already been secured and would be announced “soon.”
That absence of lineup details left some fans disappointed, particularly those expecting a more substantial reveal following the event’s countdown campaign.
Speaking with Hits Daily Double, Sharon explained that the booking process is still underway, with approximately 50% of the 2027 Ozzfest lineup finalized. She was also asked whether fans could expect the same lineup across all three announced dates, responding:
“I hope so. For me, it’d be a lot less work.”
Sharon also discussed her reasons for bringing Ozzfest back following Ozzy’s passing and several years removed from the festival’s last physical edition in 2018. For her, the revival is about preserving her late husband’s legacy for future generations.
“I want to do it for my grandchildren. I want to do it for everyone who loves Ozzy. It’s his legacy, and I want it to go on and on. He’s dead, but he’s not forgotten, and he left a great body of work. There are so few real characters left in this industry—genuine ones, not made up for the cameras. Nothing about Ozzy was contrived. He was never one of those rock stars sitting front row at a fashion show trying to be the coolest guy in the room.”
The three currently confirmed stops for the 2027 edition of Ozzfest are:
- July 10, 2027 – Milton Keynes, UK – The National Bowl
- September 11, 2027 – San Bernardino, CA – Glen Helen Amphitheater
- September 18, 2027 – Mexico City, Mexico – Estadio GNP Seguros
Early bird presales are scheduled to begin tomorrow, November 6, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
Elsewhere in the interview, Sharon addressed the possibility of additional posthumous Ozzy Osbourne material eventually reaching fans. She pointed toward two previously unreleased tracks that Ozzy recorded alongside producer Andrew Watt, confirming that they are intended to feature in the upcoming film project centered on the Osbournes.
Watt had previously discussed the existence of those recordings, revealing that he and Ozzy had been revisiting the material ahead of the ‘Back To The Beginning’ concert.
Sharon also brought up a separate collection of missing archival recordings connected to Black Sabbath, alleging that studio, live and unreleased tapes have been withheld from the family.
“There are two songs Ozzy did for his movie project with Andrew Watt, and there are Sabbath tapes that went missing years ago—studio tapes, live tapes, unreleased tapes. We now know exactly who has them: the same man who’s been stealing our money. He said he never had them, but we’ve found people with sworn statements they went to his office. He’s a hoarder of memorabilia—two warehouses full of albums. We’re right in the middle of that nightmare.”
Sharon additionally provided an update on the long-anticipated Ozzy Osbourne biopic, which is being developed with Sony Pictures. The project has encountered its share of hurdles, with the screenplay already undergoing multiple revisions.
“There’s Ozzy’s movie with Sony Pictures. We’re on the fourth script now. [laughs] It’s hard for writers to get Ozzy’s voice—it’s perception versus reality. It’s been tough, but making movies is tough—hopefully the longer it takes, the better it’ll be.”
As for the portion of their lives the film will explore, Sharon confirmed that the story will focus on 1978 through 1996, covering Ozzy’s departure from Black Sabbath, his subsequent solo career and the creation of Ozzfest.
She also suggested that the film will explore aspects of their relationship that have remained largely out of the public eye, particularly the difficulties they faced together involving her father.
The biopic will reportedly cover:
“’78 to ’96—the end of his time in Black Sabbath, going solo, Ozzfest. Everybody knows what happened after that, but nobody knows what Ozzy and I went through with my father to stay together.”
