Sparta Debut “Without Your Hands” Music Video Alongside New Album ‘Cut A Silhouette’

Sparta have officially released their new studio album ‘Cut A Silhouette’, marking a fresh chapter for the post-hardcore outfit fronted by Jim Ward (ex-At The Drive In). Alongside the album’s release, the band have unveiled a new music video for “Without Your Hands,” now available to stream.

The video was directed by Travis Shinn and arrives as one of the final visual pushes for the record’s rollout. Ward says the track reflects a deeply personal sense of connection and optimism.

“I want to tell my partner how she has held me up, how I strive to get there. It is optimism, both lyrically and musically. I always wake up optimistic, and this feels like a comfortable song to me. This is a morning song.”

The album title itself was inspired by a John Candy documentary, specifically a comment from Macaulay Culkin reflecting on the late actor’s impact.

“He said that when he met John Candy, he just entered your brain and cut a silhouette. Like, he just left an impression…”

Ward noted that sentiment shaped the creative direction of the record, aiming for something that leaves a lasting impression on listeners.

Sparta will be supporting ‘Cut A Silhouette’ with an extensive run of tour dates across North America, South America, and Europe in the coming months, including select shows with The Toadies, Jimmy Eat World, and Hammok.
