Boston hardcore punk outfit Haywire have unveiled a new music video for their latest single “FLEX YOUR HEAD,” featuring footage captured during the band’s unauthorized performance in New York City’s Times Square.
The video documents the group’s recent guerrilla-style shoot, which quickly attracted the attention of the New York Police Department. As previously reported, officers moved in on the impromptu performance, bringing the set to an abrupt end approximately a song and a half into the band’s planned appearance. Authorities also reportedly confiscated the group’s equipment.
Despite the brief performance, Haywire managed to turn the chaotic encounter into a finished music video. The clip was directed by Luis Hernandez and is currently available exclusively through Spotify.
“FLEX YOUR HEAD” appears on the band’s latest release, ‘I DON’T WANNA SAY GOODBYE’, which arrived last month and marked Haywire’s first full-length album since signing with Roadrunner Records.
The band certainly aren’t slowing down following the release, either. Haywire have an extensive international touring schedule ahead, with appearances alongside Feel The Pain, Rise Against, Dropkick Murphys, Comeback Kid, Whispers, Speedway, GVLLOW, Dark Thoughts and Béton Armé, among others.
