Static-X have announced that their iconic 1999 single “Push It” has officially been certified Gold in the United States by the RIAA. The track, taken from the band’s platinum-certified debut album Wisconsin Death Trip, is now reportedly approaching Platinum status itself.
In a statement posted on June 18th, the band celebrated the achievement while teasing its continued momentum:
“We’ve been killing it on the road the past year and haven’t even had the time to acknowledge that ‘Push It‘ was certified Gold! X-Bot has crunched the numbers and it’s actually closer to Platinum now, so we’re calling on you to help us ‘Push It‘ Platinum – or get a shovel to the face.”
Wisconsin Death Trip was certified Gold in January 2000, before achieving Platinum a year later. Its follow-up, Machine, earned a Gold certification in November 2003.
The self-proclaimed evil disco outfit will continue to honor the 25th anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip this summer and fall, joining Mudvayne on their co-headlining tour. That trek will also commemorate 25 years of Mudvayne’s own landmark debut, L.D. 50. Vended will serve as openers, with STATIC-X also tacking on headlining off-dates with Dope as support.

Great but pic should include Wayne somehow…he’s the true STATIC 🫡
John R. Thorstad II have you been to any of their shows? They’re all devoted to wayne
Dan Collyer Absolutely and agree 👍 My comment was more pointed towards the fact that they’re celebrating the GOLD status of Push It without even mentioning his name in the FB post header. Honestly, if I hear anyone out in public say the word push or it, I think of Wayne. That’s all…I’m good 🫡
