Stone Sour have revisited their 2010 album ‘Audio Secrecy’ for an expanded 15th anniversary release, bringing former guitarist Jim Root back into the fold to help complete a song that originally never made it past the writing and recording sessions.
The track, titled “Full Of Empty,” was left unfinished during the album’s original sessions. Now, more than a decade later, frontman Corey Taylor returned to the studio late last year to finish the song, with Root recording new guitar parts alongside guitarist Josh Rand, who also contributed additional material.
Root’s involvement marks a reunion of sorts for the former Stone Sour guitarist, whose tenure with the group ended in 2013. He remains best known for his work with Slipknot, where he continues to perform alongside Taylor.
The newly completed 2026 version of “Full Of Empty” will appear on the upcoming deluxe anniversary edition of ‘Audio Secrecy’, scheduled for release on November 20.
Stone Sour have largely remained inactive since entering an indefinite hiatus in 2020, making the newly recorded material a notable addition to the band’s catalog.
The expanded edition will include four bonus tracks, a collection of previously unreleased demos, rough mixes and alternate versions, as well as a complete live recording of the band’s 2010 performance at the Brighton Centre in Brighton, England. New liner notes have also been written by Ryan J. Downey.
