Sumerian Records’ Ash Avildsen Appears on ‘AEW Dynamite’ to Promote New Film ‘Queen of the Ring’

Sumerian Records founder and CEO—and former Reflux vocalist—Ash Avildsen made a cameo appearance on the March 5th episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS/Max. A longtime wrestling fan, Avildsen appeared in a backstage segment alongside Toni Storm, the reigning AEW Women’s World Champion, who is featured in the film.

The upcoming film, Queen of the Ring, tells the extraordinary true story of Mildred Burke, the legendary professional wrestler and single mother who defied the odds to become the first million-dollar female athlete. Her dominance in the ring came at a time when women’s wrestling was banned across much of the United States.

The film’s soundtrack boasts a powerhouse lineup of rock and metal artists. Among the standout contributions: Corey Taylor teams up with Bad Omens for a cover of Kansas’ “Dust in the Wind“, while members of Kittie join forces with Diamante and The Pretty Wild for a rendition of Metallica’s “The Unforgiven“. Meanwhile, Asking Alexandria frontman Danny Worsnop lends his voice to a cover of Dolly Parton’s “The Seeker“.

Queen of the Ring opens in theaters this Friday, March 7th. Check out the trailer below.
