THE HALO EFFECT Release Cover Of W.A.S.P.’s “I Wanna Be Somebody”

Melodic death metal supergroup The Halo Effect have unveiled their rendition of W.A.S.P.‘s 1984 classic “I Wanna Be Somebody”. The track will appear on their upcoming covers EP, We Are Shadows, set for release via Nuclear Blast on November 21st in vinyl and digital formats. Each cover on the EP was handpicked by a different band member.

Guitarist Jesper Strömblad chose this song and shared his thoughts:

“W.A.S.P.’s aggressive sound and eccentric stage presence has always been fun. The shock of songs like ‘I Fuck Like a Beast’ and fun anthems like ‘I Wanna Be Somebody,’ and ‘L.O.V.E. Machine,’ are powerful and heavy. Extreme and dramatic, controversial and fun, W.A.S.P.’s ‘I Wanna Be Somebody’, off their debut album, was my first introduction into the band.”
