Professionally filmed footage of Trivium’s August 8, 2025 performance at the ‘Bloodstock Open Air’ festival in Walton-on-Trent, UK was uploaded online Friday (February 20), but the band are now facing backlash over the editing of the set.
While the 17-song performance itself has been praised, much of the conversation surrounding the release has centered on what many fans believe is the apparent removal of close-up shots of former drummer Alex Bent.
Trivium parted ways with Bent in October 2025, at the time suggesting the split was amicable. However, viewers have noted that in the newly released official footage, Bent is largely kept in the background, with no prominent or tight camera shots appearing throughout the performance.
Comments across YouTube, Reddit, and the band’s social media accounts have called out what fans perceive to be a deliberate editorial decision.
Among the more visible responses:
“Justice for Bent.”
“The Alex Bent erasure is crazy.”
“Huge disrespect to Alex who made this show what it was.”
“They did Alex so dirty here.”
Several of those remarks have accumulated hundreds of likes, signaling widespread frustration among portions of the fanbase.
Since Bent’s departure, Alex Rudinger has stepped in behind the kit, becoming the sixth drummer in the band’s history. Neither Trivium nor Bent have publicly addressed the editing concerns at the time of writing.
