VIMIC Unleash Final Single “Parasite Persona” Ahead of Long-Awaited Album ‘Open Your Omen’

VIMIC have dropped their latest track, “Parasite Persona”, marking the final advance single from the long-delayed debut album Open Your Omen. While new to streaming platforms, the song has been a part of the band’s live set since 2016.

After sitting on the shelf for nearly a decade, Open Your Omen will finally arrive on October 3, made possible through a fan-backed Kickstarter campaign that pulled in over $100,000.

Vocalist Kalen Chase described the single, saying:

“The music of ‘Parasite Persona‘ is a combination of violent mania and claustrophobic oppression. It presses into your temples and then throws you off of a cliff. When I first heard it, the lyrical theme hit me like a sledgehammer. It’s a not-so-gentle musing about complete societal, social and spiritual breakdown. As a music fan, sometimes I don’t want to listen to peaceful protest songs, or hopeful songs, or love songs. Sometimes, I wanna dive into the darkness and despair so that I can come out the other side. In summation, ‘Parasite Persona‘ is heavy as fuck.”

Recorded and completed back in 2016, Open Your Omen is being released with the blessing of the family of the band’s late drummer Joey Jordison (ex-Slipknot), whose legacy continues to loom large over the project.

To celebrate its release, a special benefit show will take place October 3 at The Teragram Ballroom, raising money for the Joey Jordison Charitable Fund. The event will feature multiple guest drummers paying tribute, including Ash Pearson (Revocation), Luana Dametto (Crypta), 10-year-old prodigy Caleb Hayes, and Chris Williams (Accept).
