HATEBREED Guitarist Wayne Lozinak Recovering at Home Following Brain Tumor Surgery

Hatebreed guitarist Wayne Lozinak is now home and on the mend after undergoing a craniotomy earlier this month to remove a benign brain tumor.

The veteran metalcore musician first began experiencing stroke-like symptoms while onstage during the band’s European tour this past June. A hospital visit soon after revealed the tumor, prompting Lozinak to temporarily step away from the band to focus on his health and prepare for surgery.

The procedure was completed earlier this month, and Lozinak shared an update on August 10 confirming his recovery is underway. He previously noted that the healing process could take at least six weeks, though it may vary. Lozinak has vowed to rejoin Hatebreed when he is physically ready.

In his latest update, Lozinak expressed gratitude for the support he’s received:

“Hello everyone! I’m finally home. Last week was rough! But I’m getting better every day. Gonna be a while before I get fully recovered, but it’s going good! I want to thank you all for all the messages. I didn’t have my phone in the hospital, so that’s why I didn’t respond. Just started to look over them today. I really appreciate it! Made me feel good!

I also want to thank @katnacario!!! She stayed with me in the room all week, and contacted people to let them know what was going on. She is the greatest! I love You!

My surgical team was great! Big thanks to @kims.living.life for getting me the best care, and checking on me every day!

Thanks again, for all the messages! Onward & upward!”

Despite recent lineup changes, Hatebreed has continued honoring its live commitments. Fill-in bassist Matt Bachand (Shadows Fall) has shifted to guitar, while Carl Schwartz (First Blood) has stepped in on bass.
