156/Silence have unveiled another preview of their upcoming album, From A Distance, releasing the new track “Proxy Idols” ahead of the record’s September arrival.
The atmospheric metalcore outfit used the song to take aim at modern celebrity culture and the increasingly obsessive nature of fandom. Discussing the track, the band shared:
“Celebrity worship is more prevalent than ever. They come and go as they do, being forced into our faces until then the next batch comes through. People’s obsessive compulsion to follow other people’s lives that they’ll never once meet. It’s almost as sad as it is maddening.”
“Proxy Idols” follows previous material issued from From A Distance, which is set to arrive on September 4 through Pure Noise Records.
The band also have a packed schedule ahead, including dates with reunited post-hardcore favorites Chiodos, a North American trek alongside Aviana, HEAVENSGATE, and fromjoy, and a European run supporting The Devil Wears Prada with Novelists and Oversize.
