Acres Release “Built To Bleed” Music Video

With a few weeks still remaining until the release of The Host, their new album due out May 2nd, Acres have unveiled the third single from the record: “Built To Bleed”. The track arrives alongside a new music video directed by jawmidnight, which you can watch below. The single is also available now across major digital service providers.

Jack Rogers, the band’s bassist and lyricist, shared the deeply personal inspiration behind the song:

“I wrote ‘Built To Bleed’ lyrically about how I realized I have been valuing myself for pretty much my entire life. I’ve never been one to feel positive about myself or celebrate ‘achievements’ or be happy with the way I look, etc. Starting therapy made me realize how I’d manage to normalize those feelings and believe them wholeheartedly.

It’s a song where I’m at my absolute lowest mentally, laced with guilt for feeling the way I feel and being so good at hiding it and masking it. It’s definitely the most lyrically open I’ve ever been about my inner thoughts of myself.”

The Host will follow up the band’s 2019 album Lonely World and has so far delivered a string of emotionally raw, sonically intense singles ahead of its release.
