A new politically charged collaboration has arrived, bringing together Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine, Serj Tankian of System Of A Down, and Morello’s son Roman Morello on a brand new track titled “ADJOURN IT.”
The song has officially debuted online alongside a new music video, continuing a long-running creative and activist partnership between Morello and Tankian, who previously co-founded the nonprofit Axis Of Justice in 2002.
The track is framed as a protest anthem centered on themes of resistance, immigration, and political division. Morello described the inspiration behind the release in stark terms.
“The persecution of immigrants across the land and the counterforce of a heroic resistance to the rising tide of fascism. ADJOURN IT is a ‘Freedom Song’ of crushing riffs for justice and equality.”
The accompanying video incorporates footage from the 1954 film Salt Of The Earth, which depicts Mexican-American miners fighting labor exploitation and systemic racism. The film itself was famously produced by blacklisted Hollywood figures and used real miners in its cast, becoming a landmark in independent political cinema.
The new visual presentation ties those historical themes to the song’s modern message of solidarity and resistance.
All three musicians involved in “ADJOURN IT” are also scheduled to appear at Morello’s upcoming Power To The People Festival, set for October 03rd at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. The event will feature additional performances from artists including Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, and Dave Matthews Band.

Communism isn’t a revolution, it’s the most historically proven form of oppression and murder of innocent people. Anyone in this country pushing it should be hung from a tree and left for the birds to pick at
