Alien Weaponry have debuted the video below for their song “Ihenga“. The song is from the band’s latest album Tangaroa, which tells the story of Ihenga – a famous explorer for the Te Arawa people. The band’s de Jong brothers have ancestral ties to the famed explorer, according to the press release.
The band offered the following on the song:
“When the Te Arawa people first came to Aotearoa (New Zealand) from Hawaiki (greater Tahitian Island group), they set about exploring the new land. Ihenga traveled throughout the North Island of Aotearoa and named many places that still have these names today.”
