The memory of Andy Williams is being carried into tonight’s NASCAR action, with the late Every Time I Die and Atomic Rule guitarist being honored on the #42 car driven by Brad Perez.
Williams’ name and likeness will be featured on Perez’s car during tonight’s NASCAR O’Reilly Series Nu Way 225 Powered by Bobcat and Sauced by Blues Hog at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois.
Williams, who also became known as “The Butcher” during his wrestling career, passed away following a medical emergency at an independent wrestling event in Pennsylvania last weekend. His death has prompted an outpouring of tributes from both the music and wrestling communities.
The tribute comes on the same night that AEW will honor Williams during Collision on TNT and HBO Max. The company has announced a “Butcher Battle Royale” in his memory, with $100,000 set to be donated to a charity chosen by the winner in Williams’ name.
From the stages of Every Time I Die and Atomic Rule to professional wrestling and now NASCAR, Williams’ impact continues to be recognized across the different worlds he was a part of.
