Attila are set to head to Russia this September for a four-date run, joining a small number of Western metal acts that have continued to book shows in the country amid its ongoing war in Ukraine.
The metalcore outfit will make stops in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and Yekaterinburg across the run.
- 09/12 Moscow, RUS – VK Stadium
- 09/13 St. Petersburg, RUS – Sound
- 09/14 Nizhny Novgorod, RUS – Milo Concert Hall
- 09/16 Yekaterinburg, RUS – Fabrika
The band’s decision to perform in Russia comes against a controversial backdrop, with many international artists having pulled out of touring the country following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
As I Lay Dying remain among the more notable Western metal acts to have performed in Russia in recent years, despite the broader exodus of international artists from the region.
Elsewhere, Ill Niño had also planned to tour Russia this year before announcing in July that their dates had been canceled. The band cited a “family medical emergency” along with concerns surrounding the escalating war tensions in the region.
