Avenged Sevenfold have been forced to postpone their immediate touring plans as frontman M. Shadows recovers from a vocal fold hematoma. The band’s Latin American run, originally scheduled to begin September 25th in Buenos Aires, Argentina, will now be pushed back to 2026.
In a statement, the multi-platinum alternative metal outfit shared:
“With a heavy heart, and regretfully, we have to announce that due to a specific condition called a vocal fold hematoma, we have made the necessary decision to push our tour to early next year. We promise to come back stronger than ever. Your tickets will still be valid for the rescheduled shows—new dates are on the way and will be announced next week. Thank you for your understanding, love, and support.”
Shadows followed up with a video message, explaining the diagnosis came after feeling lingering throat issues post–Louder Than Life. A doctor in Argentina confirmed the hematoma, the same injury he battled in 2017, which at that time required surgery after he continued to perform through it.
This time, Shadows has opted for immediate rest and recovery:
“If I shut this down now, I’ll have a couple weeks of voice rest and then a couple months of rehab, and we’ll be able to remake these dates. I have to make the responsible decision here and shut this down… There’s no way I can sing like this and I don’t want another surgery.”
The affected tour was set to run through October 14th in San Juan, Puerto Rico. New dates will be announced once Shadows has completed his recovery.

In 2017 he had the same issues with his throat and canceled the tour
Elizabeth Torres yea his video said hes trying to be better ontop of it so he doesn’t have to do a surgery again
