It appears that the ‘Back To The Beginning’ festival — which served as the final live farewell for Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne this past summer — could be revived in the United States as a tribute to the late heavy metal icon.
According to The Mirror, a U.S. trademark application has been filed for the ‘Back To The Beginning’ name, covering “entertainment services in the nature of live musical performance.” A similar filing is reportedly expected in the UK. The applications were submitted by Monowise LTD, a company long associated with managing Osbourne’s intellectual property.
The first and only ‘Back To The Beginning’ concert took place on July 05th, 2025, at Villa Park in Birmingham, UK. Billed as the final live performance from Ozzy and Black Sabbath, the event featured appearances from Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, and several others — all performing tributes to Ozzy’s solo and Sabbath material. The show was livestreamed globally, with proceeds going to charity.
A 100-minute concert film documenting the historic performance, with a focus on the Osbourne-related sets, is slated to debut in 2026. It’s unclear if the new trademark filings are tied to that project or if they signal plans for additional tribute concerts honoring Ozzy’s legacy.
Osbourne tragically passed away on July 22nd, 2025, from a heart attack — just weeks after his final performance.
