After months of anticipation, Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne took their final bows earlier today, July 5th, at the massive ‘Back To The Beginning’ concert held at Villa Park in Birmingham, UK. The landmark event brought together a staggering roster of hard rock and metal legends, all paying tribute to the pioneering heavy metal band and their iconic frontman.
The event saw abbreviated sets from each artist — most lasting just 15–30 minutes — with every act performing both originals and covers of Sabbath or Ozzy classics. A portion of proceeds went to Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice.

Ozzy, who has battled several health issues in recent years, performed his final set seated on a custom throne adorned with bats, similar to his setup at last year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction. Black Sabbath’s original lineup — Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward — also shared the stage one last time.
Jason Momoa served as the evening’s host, while fan-favorite actor/musician Jack Black delivered a pre-recorded cover of “Mr. Crowley”. Other surprises included a taped cover of “Changes” by Fred Durst, and an unannounced live appearance from YUNGBLUD, who performed the same track live.
The concert was livestreamed via backtothebeginning.com, drawing in hundreds of thousands of fans globally — though some viewers noted stream quality issues and audio glitches. Controversy also surrounded appearances from Disturbed frontman David Draiman and a video message from Marilyn Manson, both of whom drew mixed reactions due to recent public controversies.
