Alternative metal outfit Cold have postponed and canceled several upcoming spring tour dates as frontman Scooter Ward remains with his family following a serious health emergency involving his mother.
The band had been scheduled to launch a tour on April 15th celebrating their 1998 self-titled debut album performed in full each night, with support from Alien Ant Farm, University Drive, Idle Heirs and Sierra Swan appearing on select dates.
In a statement shared March 23rd, Ward revealed that his mother suffered a major stroke earlier this year, prompting him to delay the start of the run while assisting with her recovery.
“It’s never an easy decision for us to have to cancel or reschedule any shows for an upcoming tour. With that said, family always remains the most important thing in all of our lives.”
Ward explained that the medical emergency occurred in January while he was visiting family for the holidays. Though she survived, recovery has required extended care and support.
“This January my mother had a major stroke… She ended up pulling through but it’s been a rough couple of months for her during recovery. I’m forever thankful and blessed she’s still with us.”
He added that he chose to remain home longer to help his parents manage day-to-day responsibilities, ultimately leading to the tour delay. The changes affect shows scheduled between April 15th and May 02nd.
Tickets for rescheduled dates will remain valid, while canceled shows will be refunded at the point of purchase. VIP packages for canceled dates will be automatically refunded.
