Members of the rock and metal world gathered for a special performance earlier this week when Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor joined an all-star lineup to perform Black Sabbath’s classic “Paranoid.”
The performance took place during The Sound And Visions Awards on Monday, March 2nd at the Plaza Theatre, where legendary bassist Geezer Butler and veteran singer Paul Rodgers were honored. Proceeds from the event benefited the nonprofit Adopt The Arts.
All-Star Tribute Band
For the occasion, organizers assembled an all-star house band made up of prominent rock musicians. One of the highlights of the night saw Taylor step up to the mic to deliver a spirited take on “Paranoid,” backed by a stacked lineup that included Butler himself.
The musicians involved in the tribute performances included:
- Matt Sorum (ex-Guns N’ Roses / Velvet Revolver)
- Lzzy Hale (Halestorm)
- Corey Taylor (Slipknot)
- Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme)
- Glenn Hughes (ex-Deep Purple)
- Steve Stevens (Billy Idol)
- Robert DeLeo (Stone Temple Pilots)
- Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke)
- Mike Mangan (The Cult)
- Phil X (Bon Jovi)
- Tanya O’Callaghan (Whitesnake / Bruce Dickinson)
- Steve Salas (Mick Jagger collaborator)
Clips from the performance have since surfaced online, capturing the stacked lineup delivering a lively rendition of the iconic 1970 heavy metal anthem.
