Multi-platinum, GRAMMY Award-winning progressive metal band Dream Theater has titled their sixteenth studio album Parasomnia. This release marks the reunion of the band with drummer Mike Portnoy for the first time since 2009. The album is set to drop on February 7th through Inside Out Music/Sony Music.
Guitarist John Petrucci handled production, with Andy Sneap (Judas Priest, Amon Amarth) brought in to mix the album. According to an official press release, Parasomnia refers to disruptive sleep-related disturbances, such as sleepwalking, sleep paralysis, and night terrors. Tracks like A Broken Man, Dead Asleep, Midnight Messiah, and Bend The Clock reflect the themes tied to the album’s title.
The first single, Night Terror, has been released, accompanied by a near 10-minute music video directed by Mike Leonard, which you can watch below.
