Electric Callboy Pay Tribute to Chester Bennington With Acoustic Cover of Linkin Park’s “Crawling”

Germany’s Electric Callboy may be best known for their high-energy fusion of electronic and metalcore, but their influences—Linkin Park among them—run deep. This past Thursday, March 20th, marked what would have been Chester Bennington’s birthday, and in tribute, the band delivered a heartfelt acoustic rendition of “Crawling”, one of Linkin Park’s most iconic tracks from their Diamond-certified debut, Hybrid Theory.

While the song’s lyrics naturally lend themselves to a softer approach, Electric Callboy took things in a surprisingly stripped-down direction. Eschewing their usual high-octane style, they opted for an arrangement built solely around acoustic guitars and keyboards—no breakdowns, no screams, just a raw, emotional performance. Co-frontman Nico Sallach’s vocals take center stage, making for a powerful and poignant homage to the late Bennington.
