Ellis, the project fronted by former Bury Your Dead and Reflux guitarist Eric Ellis, has premiered a new music video for “Manners.” The track appears on the band’s recently released six-song EP, ‘The Answer.’, which arrived independently on July 2 and is now slated for a forthcoming CD release through Lambgoat Records.
The latest video offers another look at Ellis’ return to music following his release from prison in 2024. In 2012, Ellis was sentenced to 20 years on RICO-related charges connected to his involvement with a criminal gang known as the Guardians. He ultimately served 14 years before regaining his freedom, having previously expressed plans to continue creating music even while incarcerated.
More than a year after his release, Ellis has steadily resumed his musical career, with ‘The Answer.’ marking one of his most significant post-prison releases to date.
The project is also preparing for its first-ever live performance. Ellis will make its concert debut on August 1 at The Albatross in Jacksonville, Florida, where the band will open for Southpaw FLHC.
