Jonny Reeves Confirms Exit From Kingdom Of Giants Again: “I’m Not In The Band Anymore”

Jonny Reeves has confirmed his most recent departure from Kingdom Of Giants, just over a year after rejoining the Californian metalcore band in January 2024.

Reeves, who also stepped in last year to replace Ahren Stringer in Australian outfit The Amity Affliction, discussed the split during a recent episode of ‘The Downbeat Podcast’, where he explained that conflicting commitments ultimately led to the decision.

“I’m not in the band anymore, as of last December, I would say… Things just were coming to a head where they’re just like, ‘We’ve got plans, and you’ve got other plans going on over here.’ And so it was kind of this, it’s [an] in my court decision.”

He added that the choice came down to priorities aligning elsewhere:

“And I was just like, I don’t wanna hold them back from achieving their goals, but this [The Amity Affliction] aligns with the goals that I’m after. And with things just working so well with this group, it was really kind of a no-brainer.”

When asked whether there was any fallout from the split, Reeves downplayed tensions while acknowledging disappointment on both sides.

“They’re disappointed.”

Despite that, he clarified that the departure was not rooted in personal conflict:

“No bad beef from my end.”

Since stepping away from Kingdom Of Giants, Reeves has continued his full-time role with The Amity Affliction, contributing to their latest album ‘House Of Cards’ and remaining active on their current North American tour alongside August Burns Red, Boundaries, and HEAVENSGATE.
