The long-simmering feud between former Saliva frontman Josey Scott and current vocalist Bobby Amaru has officially erupted into music. Scott, who co-founded Saliva and fronted the band until his 2011 departure, has released two new tracks, “Who?” and “Famous”, both appearing to take direct shots at Amaru.
The rift between the two singers has grown increasingly public in recent months. While the two shared a brief reconciliation in 2022 when Scott joined the band for a live performance, that goodwill didn’t last. Scott now tours under the name Josey Scott’s Saliva, seeking to reclaim his legacy and, in his words, “gain control of the Saliva name.” This past August, he notably referred to the current lineup as “the Temu Version of Saliva.”
Since the 2023 passing of founding guitarist Wayne Swinny, Saliva has continued under Amaru’s leadership but now consists of no original members. That shift has only fueled the tension, and now Scott has taken things further with two scathing new songs.
On “Who?”, Scott spares no venom, delivering brutal lines like:
“With friends like you who needs f*cking enemies?
Three strikes and you’re out of there apparently.
Just like you left Wayne Swinny there in Germany.
And then you did the same thing on his mother’s floor.
Another rusty nail straight through his coffin door.
The third time was the charm for you, with Wayne’s body in the helicopter turning blue — but you had a show to do.”
Meanwhile, “Famous?” continues the assault, with Scott invoking more personal accusations in the lyrics:
“Bet you counted on me to forget this.
Since he’s not here then I’ll be his witness.
For the three times you left him defenseless, I hope for your sake that God will forgive this.
He was sick as a dog and not breathing.
You not only replaced him, but leave him.
You’re a cowardly bitch and a thief.
And I will not rest till you leave this world bleeding.
For your sake I would beef up security.
Because I will be in touch, assuredly.”
“Famous?” also nods to one of the most legendary diss tracks in hip-hop history — Ice Cube’s “No Vaseline” — weaving in elements from the 1991 track.
Producer ScatteredBrains, who worked on both of Scott’s new singles, spoke out about “Who?”, saying:
“…I am beyond proud of this song and Josey for finding the strength to push back and push forward during a time where he’s being bullied out of his own god damn legacy, his creation, his band Saliva. Please listen, like, share and spread the message that there is only one real Saliva — Josey at the driver seat. If the fans are ready, Josey’s ready to give y’all that real shit like he never left!!! I know y’all tired of watching a cover band play his music, we are too.”
Scott’s fiery new releases come just weeks after Saliva dropped their latest single, “Hit ’Em Where It Hurts”, which some fans believe was aimed at Scott.

Bobby Taylor and quitting was his choice, there were agreements in place if members quit, he knows this, Wayne ended up with full ownership as the last member, he went into business with Bobby, and was an equal partner, with a survivors clause giving Bobby full rights after Wayne’s untimely death, Josey knows Wayne didn’t want him near Saliva ever again after their attempt to work with Josey for a reunion tour fell flat because Josey had to have it his way or no way,, respect Wayne’s wishes and be done with this nonsense.

I toured with Saliva in there prime and Josey put a clinic on day and night . He wrote the songs and now that everyone is fine he deserves the legacy he built . When Wayne was alive that’s one thing but not now Bobby is a fake and he knows it he is living of if what Josey built and Josey left because addiction would kill him if he didn’t that doesn’t mean you can steal his life because of it .

This is a video soon before Wayne passed away. He loved Bobby like a brother, and he was uncle Wayne to his kids. Wayne left everything to Bobby cause he knew he would take care of his family and keep the music alive. Josey left the band long ago to drugs, and I am glad he got his life together, but this is nothing Wayne would ever want

I’m with Josey Scott Band on this one. He named the band, he wrote the hits, and with Wayne gone. It rightfully should go to the last man standing.
Besides, Bobby is a great musician. I’m sure he can easily stand on his own.
He left the band to do with Christian music. While Wayne kept going until he died. He probably wasn’t making as much money as he used to and now he wants to capitalize on it. Could have peace with Wayne and even tried to do what Three Days Grace is doing and have 2 singers or try to come to some other kind of compromise, but he decided to be a schmuck and go “gimme gimme gimme, he’s dead its mine now”
