Korn’s Munky Pushes For ‘Family Values Tour’ Revival: “Let’s Do This!”

Korn guitarist James Shaffer has revealed he’s been actively pushing for a revival of the band’s iconic ‘Family Values Tour’.

Speaking in a recent interview, Shaffer reflected on past moments in the band’s career—including their experience at Woodstock 1999—before being asked about the possibility of bringing the tour back. He expressed enthusiasm for the idea, especially if it involved some of the original lineup.

“That would be amazing, and have the originals like Ice Cube and Rammstein. I mean, it’s possible.”

Shaffer went on to confirm that the idea has been discussed internally, noting that he’s been one of the main advocates behind it.

“I’ve talked about it. I have talked about it. I’m the one that’s like, ‘let’s do this!’. So I think if we have the right people involved, it could happen.”

Originally launched in 1998, the ‘Family Values Tour’ featured a stacked lineup that included Rammstein, Ice Cube, Limp Bizkit, and Orgy alongside Korn. The tour became a defining moment for the late ‘90s nu metal movement and was later immortalized with a platinum-certified live album.

That inaugural run also drew headlines for controversy, including the widely reported arrest of Rammstein members in Worcester, MA over explicit onstage antics.

Several versions of the tour followed in the years after, with its most recent outing taking place in 2013 as a one-off destination festival in Broomfield, CO.

While nothing has been officially announced, Shaffer’s comments suggest the door remains open for a return—should the right lineup and timing come together.
